What is an alarm system for? An alarm system is not meant to be a source of protection. In essence, it is an early warning system if you are home or a mechanism to call for help. It is the S.O.S. to the police or fire department. As an early warning system, it notifies you of an intruder (or teenage escapee if you don’t give them a code), a fire, or whatever detection device you have attached to it. You cannot currently use an alarm as a source of protection (though…in an alternate world I could see a taser system being useful). Many people falsely assume that an alarm is all they need to be safe. They decide not to get monitoring or ignore low battery warnings. They fail to keep battery operated smoke detectors installed and batteries maintained. While the sound of an alarm going off may scare an intruder away…if you feel there is an actual risk of an intruder, you definitely want to be monitored and look at all of your security options.
Many people ask us what the difference is between us and the “big name” companies. To be honest, there is A LOT different between RE Security Solutions and the “big name” companies. First, we do not sell proprietary equipment (though, those companies will only utilize their equipment so you can’t even switch over to them without being roped into their equipment). We will sell you the equipment that meets YOUR needs, not what general product may have been deemed to be the most profitable. We have a wide range of options available, and generally have a monthly special available.
When it comes to service, we feel we should provide you the lowest-cost option without sacrificing the customer service that is absolutely necessary when it comes to your security needs. Larger companies typically only provide minimal support via the phone and insist that a technician needs to come out to assess the situation. Then, they charge for the trip and spend 5 minutes working out a problem that they could have walked you through over the phone. We don’t believe that your security should be expensive, so we strive to provide as much service over the phone as possible. In the event that we are unable to resolve the situation over the phone, we will then assess the need for a service trip. If you just need to purchase a battery and are comfortable replacing it yourself, we can have one shipped to you instead of having you pay for a service charge! On the other hand, if you want someone to come out and take a look, or just do not want to deal with trying to work on the problem yourself, we will gladly schedule a time to go out and resolve the problem at rates that are much lower than most of our competitors.
While not the “final” difference, one last difference I want to discuss is that we also provide flexible hours. Having our own company, we completely understand the need for service calls or installation to occur in the late afternoon or evening. We have several days available for evening calls at no additional charge. We will even schedule weekend trips as available without charging extra! In this industry, that is rare to find, but we fully understand the need to have a functioning system.
When it comes to your safety, you should have the flexibility and functionality that meet your needs. Don’t pay high rates and be locked into long contracts for sub-par service.

Our month-to-month home monitoring is usually around $24 per month with a 1 year contract, but will vary depending on your unique needs.
